SEREMBAN: When eight-year-old Suzan Kaur suffered fainting spells in school regularly, her mother took her to the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital here and was shocked when doctors told her that the child has a hole-in-the heart condition.
Ranjit Kaur, 28, a single mother with two young sons, was devastated to learn that a heart surgery would cost RM5,000. She was only receiving a RM300 monthly aid from the welfare department.
