NEB: Compromise reached between govt and Chinese education groups on contentious issues


KUALA LUMPUR: A compromise had been reached between the Government and the Chinese education groups to address the contentious issues affecting vernacular schools in the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013 -2025 (MEB).

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the Government and vernacular Chinese education groups had agreed that the lesson time for Bahasa Malaysia would be increased from 180 to 240 minutes for pupils in Years Four, Five and Six in vernacular schools.
