PETALING JAYA: Solid waste management concessionaire Alam Flora Sdn Bhd has denied talk that it was to blame for the diesel spillage near a treatment intake supplying water to the Klang Valley.
The company said in a statement yesterday that it had nothing to do with the waste disposal lorry workshop that was reported to be responsible for the diesel spillage. Neither was it the owner of the waste disposal lorry workshop, the statement said.
The spillage led to the emergency closure of four water treatment plants supplying the Klang Valley and its surrounding areas.
“We were informed of information being spread via irresponsible postings on Facebook, Twitter, SMS and blogs linking Alam Flora as the cause of the diesel spillage,” the statement said.
