TAWAU: A woman's left wrist was almost severed after she was slashed by a man wielding a samurai sword in front of her house at Taman Semarak on Thursday.
Tawau district police chief ACP Awang Besar Dullah said the incident happened about 8.30pm after the 43-year-old woman was believed to have rebuked a group of motorcyclists, which included the man's younger brother, for making noise in front of her house.
He said the group then left, but the suspect and another youth returned sometime later to make some more noise.
The woman came out of her house and was slashed by the suspect, he told reporters here Friday.
Awang Besar said the woman was sent to Tawau Hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.
