KUALA LUMPUR: A remote-controlled aerial vehicle (pic) commonly used by the military to spy on terrorists has been found allegedly snooping on MCA Youth chief Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong's bungalow in Bukit Tiara in Cheras.
Dr Wee said the portable hexacopter with six rotors was found by a neighbour's children on Aug 8.
"Am I a terrorist? This is an invasion of privacy.
"They (perpetrators) have no right to do this," he said in a press conference Friday.
He said the hexacopter fell on a neighbour's rooftop after it hit a lighting arrester.
Dr Wee added that he managed to collect the craft from his neighbour only on Thursday.
Showing five short video clips from the chip attached to a tiny camera from the craft, Wee said the hexacopter was aimed in the direction of his and a neighbour's house.
Asked what the motive for this could be, he said he would not speculate, but added that it was normal before party elections for snooping activities to be conducted on potential leaders.
Dr Wee lodged a report with the police headquarters here, and officers came to Wisma MCA to take his statement.
