KUALA LUMPUR: The Customs Department foiled 101 attempts to smuggle in fireworks and firecrackers with an estimated value of RM5.67mil in the first half of this year.
Its Surveillance Division director R. Mariappa said the 322 tonnes of seized pyrotechnics were worth RM3.61mil in taxes.
