PETALING JAYA: Bukit Aman is looking into one of the last few tweets by MyWatch chairman R. Sri Sanjeevan which he alleged that a cop had recruited a syndicate member to fire shots at his house.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said on Twitter: “I assure the family and public that our investigations will be thorough and will look into all aspect including those alleged by SS earlier.”
He added that CID director Comm Datuk Hadi Ho Abdullah would personally supervise the probe into the case and would make arrests to facilitate investigations, if necessary.
“I wish Sanjeevan’s quick recovery to assist us in our investigations @PDRMsia,” Khalid tweeted.
Some eight hours before Sanjeevan was shot at 4.30pm Saturday, he had tweeted in @SanjeevanSS: “A @PDRMsia cop told some syndicate fellow that he’ll get them firearm & told them to fire few shots at my house to scare me/family!”
Sanjeevan was later shot by a man riding pillion on a motorcycle that pulled up beside his silver BMW when he wound down his window to smoke a cigarette at a junction near Taman Awana Indah in Jempol, Negeri Sembilan.
Two assailants on a red motorcycle had pulled up next to him. The pillion rider then fired a shot at Sanjeevan’s right rib.
Sanjeevan managed to drive off despite being badly injured, leaving his assailants behind, but stopped some 300 metres from the scene where his friend who was in the car with him took over the wheel to take the victim to Jempol Hospital.
He remains in stable but critical condition.
