Court strikes out Pakatan petition over Setiawangsa polls result


KUALA LUMPUR: The Election Court has struck out an election petition filed by Pakatan Rakyat candidate Ibrahim Yaacob who challenged Barisan Nasional’s victory in the Setiawangsa parliamentary seat in the May 5 general election.

Justice Zabariah Mohd Yusof, who held that the petition was defective, said Ibrahim failed to fulfil the mandatory requirements of the election laws in filing the petition.
