TEMERLOH: Four armed robbers took about three minutes to sweep clean a goldsmith's outlet of RM3.2mil in jewellery, during an early-morning heist along the Mentakab-Temerloh road here Thursday.
The robbers, armed with a parang each, fled in two cars parked outside and driven by two other accomplices, during the 9.30am incident.
Pahang CID chief Senior Asst Comm Mohd Zakaria Ahmad said the robbers barged into the outlet and held up the owner, aged 56, and her 27-year-old son shortly before it was about to open for business.
SAC Zakaria said the robbers, wearing masks and gloves, forced the owner's son to open the strong room before helping themselves to 21 trays of jewellery.
"There were no customers while three workers were getting ready to start work.
"The robbers fled in their cars heading towards Temerloh town without harming the victims," he said after supervising investigations at the crime scene with Temerloh Deputy OCPD Supt Zundin Mahmood.
SAC Zakaria said police had obtained footage from the closed-circuit television and were in the midst of tracking down the armed robbers.
