KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Khaeryll Benjamin Ibrahim or Benjy was again charged with possession of drugs.

Benjy, 34, the only son of actress Azean Irdawaty, was jointly charged with five others at the Ampang Magistrate's court on Tuesday with possession of methamphetamine.

The others are night market traders Zain Amir Zainal Khairi, 37, and Imran Radzi Ibrahim, 32, husband and wife Asmanizam Mohamed Akhir, 32, and Norazila Arzami, 27, and contractor Afifi Hamidi, 27.

They were accused on having a packet containing 4.7gm methamphetamine at Oakleaf Park Condominium in Persiaran Bukit Jaya, Taman Bukit Jaya, Hulu Kelang here at about 11.30am on June 26.

Zain Amir pleaded guilty while the rest claimed trial to the charge before magistrate Ayuni Izzaty Sulaiman.

Deputy public prosecutor Goh Ai Rene offered bail at RM5,000 for each accused.

Counsel Amer Hamzah Arshad appealed for a lower bail saying Benjy's mother was suffering from cancer while his father's income of RM5,000 a month had to pay for the cost of treatment.

Magistrate Ayuni later granted bail at RM3,800 in one surety each and fixed Aug 26 for mention.

On Aug 17, 2011, a Magistrate's court fined Benjy to RM5,000 in default six months' jail for having 0.24gm Syabu.
