MIC is in discussion with the Education Ministry to build a new primary school in Taman Keladi, Sungai Petani, Tamil Nesan reported.
Party deputy president Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam said that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had recently announced that six new Tamil schools would be built nationwide.
The Health Minister said that a site had been identified near the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Taman Keladi.
He said he would discuss with Deputy Education Minister P. Kamalanathan on building the school there.
> A software engineer from Bangalore was arrested by Andhra Pradesh police on the charge of sending e-mail containing obscene photos of his wife who had asked for a divorce because he allegedly hid his first marriage, Makkal Osai reported.
It was reported that Nanda Kumar Jai was arrested on June 14 for sending his wife’s photos to her relatives and friends.
> Dozens of people were injured in a communal clash that broke out in cities around Agra on Monday following a cricket match, Malaysia Nanban reported.
Police said that two groups clashed at the Ram Lila ground on Monday after one of the teams lost a cricket match, leading to shop owners in the Bijlighar, Chipi Tola and Shivaji Market areas closing their shops.
By late evening, clashes had broken out as tensions prevailed in many areas, but the situation was brought under control after a large contingent of police was rushed in.
