Najib jokingly apologises for ‘poaching’ Maybank chief

KUALA LUMPUR: The Prime Minister paid a humorous tribute to the country’s talent pool of financial sector experts when he apologised to Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) for “poaching” its president and chief executive officer to serve in his Cabinet.

Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had his audience at the 2013 Invest Malaysia conference in stitches when he began his keynote address by saying that he felt the need to apologise to Maybank for selecting Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar to serve in his Cabinet.
