GEORGE TOWN: The National Service Syruz Camp in Macang Bubok was temporarily closed two weeks ago after 48 trainees suffered high fever as a result of an Adenovirus infection.
Penang health director Datuk Dr Lailanor Ibrahim said Thursday the first 20 trainees came down with influenza-like symptoms and were admitted to the hospital. "The number of trainees who fell sick increased drastically within a week and a decision was made to close the camp to control the outbreak.
