Contractor of bridge’s ramp may not have registered workers

BUTTERWORTH: The contractor of the second Penang Bridge ramp, where a section of it collapsed last week, has allegedly not registered some of its construction workers with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB).

State CIDB director Raslim Salleh, who revealed this, said initial investigations showed that some of the company’s workers at the construction site of Package 3A of the bridge’s inter-exchange ramp did not register under the requirements of CIDB Act 520.
