MACC panel proposes commission be placed under special Parliamentary committee to combat negative perception

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) should be placed under a special parliamentary committee so it can shake off negative perception on its independence and integrity, said the commission's Consultative and Corruption Prevention Panel.

Panel chairman Datuk Johan Jaafar made the suggestion following the call by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on June 1 for a special parliamentary committee to oversee the Election Commission.
