Flash floods hit Kuala Lumpur (updated)

PETALING JAYA: A late evening thundersorm triggered flash floods and caused traffic congestion here on Wednesday.

Twitter users reported flash floods on Damansara Perdana along Jalan PJU/1 near Metropolitan Square as well as on KM13 on the New Pantai Expressway, causing the tunnel to be closed.

NPE users have been advised to take alternate routes.

Other roads affected are Jalan Duta, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Cheras, the MRR2 near Taman Connaught and the East-West link near Bandar Permaisuri.

Portions of the Besraya highway are also affected.

The SMART tunnel remains open to traffic in both directions.
