POLITICIANS from the southern Indian constituencies of Shirahatti and Ron in Bangalore are making a beeline for a tamarind tree in the Gadag district that is said to have an effect on the fortunes of those seeking political office, Tamil Nesan reported.
It all started in 1994, when Kalkeri village politician S.S. Patil was seeking to be an elected state assemblyman.
