JOHOR BARU: Johor Gerakan wants the Skudai state seat to be returned to the party before nomination day on Saturday.
Its Pasir Gudang division chief, Datuk Dr Ker Ching Sheng, said the seat had been contested by Gerakan for 30 years, thus, should be returned to the party.
He was commenting on MCA's Liang Ah Chy being named for the Skudai seat in Barisan Nasional's candidates list which was released on Monday.
Dr Ker claimed that a week before the unveiling of the list, Johor Gerakan chairman Datuk Teo Kok Chee had told him to be ready to be shortlisted as a candidate.
"I've been working for the last two years in Skudai and confident of winning the seat against the DAP," he told a press conference on Thursday.
