PUTRAJAYA: The 2012 National Academic Awards (AAN2012) to be presented in July will offer higher cash prizes with the Academic Personality Award at RM200,000 compared with the previous RM80,000 and RM50,000 for other categories against the RM20,000 the year before.
Higher Education Ministry secretary-general Datuk Abdul Rahim Noor said the value of the prizes was raised with the Cabinet's agreement to recognise academic excellence at a higher level since the awards were introduced six years ago.
