Mechanic jailed for trying to bribe GOF officer


ALOR SETAR: A mechanic was jailed two weeks and fined RM10,000 for bribing a security personnel to release his friend who was caught trying to smuggle 23 live pangolins to Thailand.

Amran Abdul Aziz, 37, pleaded guilty to offering a RM1,000 bribe to General Operations Force (GOF) officer Insp Arif Ismail for the release of Mohd Habali Hassan at the Malaysia-Thai border checkpoint near the Bukit Kayu Hitam Duty Free Complex between 10.15am and 11.30am on Oct 16 last year.
