Commando's wife faints after hearing news of his death

IPOH: Noraziah Noor, wife of VAT 69 Commando Insp Zulkifli Mamat, who was killed in a shootout with the Sulu gunmen in Lahad Datu, fainted upon hearing the tragic news of her husband's death.

Zulkifli, 30, was one of the security forces personnel who died in the Friday morning incident.

Noraziah, 29, a school teacher in Tanjung Rambutan who is pregnant with their third child, had to be taken to a nearby clinic by several family members and neighbours.

She was met at Sargeant Hussain Harun's house in Bandar Baru Putra, Bercham here.

Sargeant Hussain, 53, a General Operations Force trainer in Hulu Kinta is a father figure to the couple.

"I have known the late Zulkifli since 2004 when he joined the UUM Student Volunteer Police Corps, where I conducted map reading training," he said.

The couple lived in Bandar Baru Putra and have two children. - Bernama
