ALOR SETAR: The Kedah Government is washing its hands of the rampant logging at the Bukit Perangin Forest Reserve area because the 142.76ha land the size of 180 football fields belonged to 40 senior state civil servants.
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak claimed that it was not within the state's power to handle environmental issues, including those related to environmental impact assessments (EIAs).
