KOTA KINABALU: Members of the Filipino armed group that had landed in Lahad Datu have declared themselves to be followers of “a descendant of the Sultan of Sulu”, says Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar.
He added that the group had demanded that it be recognised as the “Royal Sulu Sultanate Army” and that the subjects of the Sulu Sultan in Sabah would not be deported back to the Philippines.
