PETALING JAYA: Emphasis will be given to further strengthen the Government's social transformation, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak here on Sunday.
He said that social transformation was the final key in the government, economic and political transformation programmes.
"The final and if not equally important for all the transformations to be complete, is social transformation," he said this when launching the national level 'My Beautiful Malaysia' programme in SK Taman Medan.
He noted that the positive effect of social transformation requires a long time to show results unlike the government, economic and political transformation.
In line with this, Najib said that emphasis would be given towards inculcating the spirit of volunteerism amongst the rakyat, particularly the youth.
Besides initiating the IM4U and DRe1M RM100mil fund for youth programmes, he said this was also the reason why 2013 was declared the Year of Volunteerism.
Najib later announced the construction of a new SRJK (T) Tan Sri V. Manikavasagam at Taman Medan including RM300,000 to build new classrooms for special students at SK Datok Harun.
