TAMIL NESAN reported that the Tamilaga Vivasayigal Sangam in Madurai organised a rally on Monday to pressure the Tamil Nadu government to write off loans that had been granted to farmers.

Its president S.A. Chinnasamy led the march of the farmers from Tiruchi, Karur, Perambalur, and Ariyalur districts to Madurai where a memorandum was presented to the Madurai Collector.
The association also demanded immediate gazetting of the Final Award of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal and criticised the Federal Government for delaying the gazetting of the award pronounced in 2007.
> Meanwhile, Makkal Osai reported that a 14-year-old boy is fighting for his life after he came in contact with a high-tension wire while flying a kite in Bhandup, Mumbai, on Tuesday.

A loud sound was heard when the boy was hit and a crater appeared at the spot due to the impact.
Mukesh has been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) at Rajawadi Hospital with 90% burns.
