ALOR SETAR: The strict public entertainment guidelines for Chinese New Year celebrations introduced by the PAS-led state government this year have led to poor response from entertainment groups.
A check with Alor Setar City Council showed there was no application for Chinese New Year public entertainment programmes to date while the Kota Setar district office has approved only one application for the 1Malaysia Chinese New Year Celebration event at a shopping complex here.
