KUALA LUMPUR: One thousand police personnel will be on duty over a four-day period from Jan 24, to beef up security in Batu Caves during Thaipusam that falls on Jan 27.
Selangor deputy police chief Datuk A. Thaiveegan said apart from the presence of police, devotees should also take preventive measures to ensure their safety.
