NGOs urge Govt to probe Anwar's plan to bring in foreigners over Scorpene purchase

KUALA LUMPUR: Six non-governmental organisations (NGOs) including the Young Journalists Club have urged the Home Ministry to investigate plans by opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and three Pakatan Rakyat Members of Parliament to bring in foreign lawyers to brief the Dewan Rakyat on the navy's purchase of Scorpene submarines.

The Young Journalists Club (KWMM) president Dzulkarnain Mohd Taib said the investigation was necessary to determine the opposition's agenda in inviting the three foreign lawyers here to explain court proceedings in France regarding the purchase.
