KUALA LUMPUR: Transparency International's Corruption Perception Index (CPI) is outdated as it is unable to accurately account for complexities in the countries it ranks, said the United Nations anti-corruption chief.
Dmitri Vlassis, who heads the UN's Corruption and Economic Crime Branch at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), said that ranking countries was also counter-productive and “does not serve anyone's purpose”.
