JASIN: MIC President Datuk Seri G. Palanivel announced that this year Indian students had been allocated 90 medical seats in local universities, compared to 53 in 2011.
"The number of Indian students entering critical fields such as accountancy, mechanical engineering and medicine has increased although their overall enrollment with institutions of higher learning have declined, with only 1,300 students this year, in contrast to 2,000 in 2008," he added.
