PETALING JAYA: MAS has proposed to launch a Sukuk programme of up to RM2.5bil to shore up its capital base as one of three main pillars of its funding plan to address working capital requirements.
The airline said in a statement Tuesday that the Sukuk "is a hybrid equity capital structure whereby the bulk of the issue size, if not all, would be recognized as equity capital in MAS' balance sheet."
