Immigration officer claims trial to accepting RM2,000 to register 2 illegal workers

SUNGAI PETANI: An Immigration Department enforcement officer pleaded not guilty at a Sessions Court here Tuesday with accepting RM2,000 as an inducement to register two foreign illegal workers under the 6P legalisation programme last year.

Ilias Ali, 53, was charged with accepting the money from Lee Jin Hup on Aug 23, last year at about 11.20am at the Immigration Department's enforcement unit's office at Jalan Bank here.
