KUALA LUMPUR: The heavy downpour since about noon on Wednesday resulted in flash floods in various parts of the city and its surrounding areas.
The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) tweeted at 3.25pm that the Besraya Highway had been hit by flash floods and all lanes were closed from KM16.1 to KM15.5 in the Southbound direction. All lanes were, however, reopened at about 5.35pm after the situation improved.
LLM (@LLMinfotrafik) also tweeted at 3.10pm that at the Elite Highway - the Seafield inter-section from Shah Alam - had also been hit by flash floods, and only the right lane was passable to traffic.
Earlier, the Smart Tunnel was closed to traffic at about 2.50pm to enable the flood system to be operational.
