THOUSANDS of first class graduates between 2005 and 2010 were unable to convert their National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) loans to scholarships despite their excellent results, claimed an Opposition MP.
Taiping MP Nga Kor Ming said the Higher Education Ministry had made an announcement that beginning 2010, all graduates who obtained first class honours would be exempted from paying PTPTN as the loans would be converted into scholarships.
