KUALA LUMPUR: Replacing the Internal Security Act 1960 with the Security Offences (Special Measures) 2012 Bill is a positive step towards improving human rights in the country, said the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam).
In his statement here, Suhakam chairman Tan Sri Hasmy Agam said the Commission also noted the amendments to the Penal Code, Information Act 1950 and Criminal Procedure Code, which were tabled on April 11, after the first reading of the Security Offences (Special Measures) 2012.
