SAMARAHAN: Malaysia faces acute shortage of site safety supervisors. The country presently needs at least 2,000 safety supervisors to meet rising demands amid rapid construction development taking place nationwide, said Safety and Health director-general Datuk Dr Johari Basri.
The country had produced 135 site safety officers through collaboration with Master Builders Association of Malaysia, and about 90 students still are undergoing training, he said when officiating a site safety supervisor here Friday.
