THE marriage of a young Taiwanese couple lasted only an hour after the husband dithered over his wife's request for a new car, reported Nanyang Siang Pau.
The wife, known only as Wang, had brought her husband, known only as Lee, to a car dealer soon after registering their marriage as she wanted her husband to buy an imported car for her.
But when Lee, 23, said he would consider it, Wang, 27, immediately snapped: “Divorce me if you do not want to buy!”
They then went back to the registration department to file for a divorce.
> China Press reported that an IT programmer sprayed insecticide on two boys, including a year-old toddler, for making noise along the corridor of a flat in Singapore on June 25 last year.
The woman, 59, was fined S$2,500 (RM6,000) by a court for endangering the life of the toddler.
The court heard that she was upset over the constant din made by the toddler and his elder brother outside her unit.
She then took out the insecticide and sprayed it on them.
The toddler's mother, who witnessed the act, immediately lodged a police report.
A medical report showed the toddler's eyesight was not affected.
> Sin Chew Daily reported that a 19-year-old prisoner claimed he was sodomised twice by his cellmate at the Sungai Udang Prison in Malacca.
He also alleged that the cellmate even kissed and hugged him on many occasions.
The victim, in his police report, claimed that his pants were torn off by the cellmate when he put up a struggle on one occasion.
A police spokesman said they were investigating the case, adding the victim had been sent to hospital for a medical check-up.
