Teacher gets 18 years' jail for causing student's death


ALOR SETAR: A teacher at a religious primary school in Arau, Perlis was sentenced to 18 years' jail for causing the death of a Year One pupil, seven-year-old Saiful Syazani Saiful Sopfidee last year.

Judicial Commissioner Mohd Zaki Abdul Wahab passed the sentence on Hanif Mohd Ali, 28, who admitted commiting the act in the warden's room of the boys hostel at the Al-Furqan Primary Religious School between 6pm and midnight on March 31, 2011.
