Minister: Tyres, helmets required to bear safety standard stickers

PUTRAJAYA: Beginning Sept 1, all tyres and helmets sold in the country must bear either the Malaysian Standard (MS) or international safety standard logos.

After that date, shop owners found selling the items without the logos can be fined up to RM100,000 and jailed three years or both, said Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
