SEREMBAN: The government, through the Women, Family and Community Ministry, has given 38 ex-convicts nationwide an opportunity to start life anew with assistance in the form of equipment to start a small business under the 1Malaysia Social Welfare (KAR1SMA) programme.
Social Institute of Malaysia Director Associate Professor Dr Mohamed Fadzil Che Din said the aid was introduced by the ministry to help former inmates to live a better life after serving their time in prison.
