PETALING JAYA: The autonomous status given to the country’s five public universities has allowed the administrators more freedom to make their own decisions.
Universiti Malaya vice-chancellor Prof Tan Sri Dr Ghauth Jasmon said the varsity was well-prepared because it already had a transformation plan that covered academic, human resources and finance drafted about two years ago.
