A businesswoman and sister to a millionaire "Tan Sri" was kidnapped in Kelana Jaya on Nov 10 and later freed upon the payment of RM2mil in ransom. After the victim was released, police launched an operation and successfully arrested all 14 suspects, including four women, in separate raids. The 62-year-old victim, who was kidnapped for six days, is reportedly an executive director of a well-known real estate company. The kidnappers had initially asked for RM10mil from her family before agreeing to RM2mil. All 14 Malaysian suspects are being investigated under Section 363 of the Penal Code for abduction. A police source said the motive of the kidnap was purely for money and the victim was not hurt during her kidnap ordeal. Police managed to retrieve the RM2mil ransom.
>Abdul Rani Kulup 'Kipidap', actress Faye Kusairi lend hand for a good cause
"King of police reports" Abdul Rani Kulup Abdullah and actress Faye Kusairi could be celebrities in their own respective fields, but that did not stop them from working together for a motorsport event in Malacca. The organisers of KLFX Superspeed Malaysia had invited them to encourage people, especially youths, to race on tracks instead of racing in the streets. Abdul Rani Kulup, also known for his moniker "Kipidap", said he didn't mind his popularity being used for a good cause. "There is nothing wrong if it is used for a good programme such as this. Furthermore, I am dedicated to serving the nation and religion," he told Zass, the entertainment pullout of the daily. He added that his hope for 2016 was to see zero illegal street racing.
