Sixty-year-old Chong Sing Woh is a living example of the Chinese proverb, "Live till you are old, learn till you are old". The veteran citizen from Ipoh, Perak, is one of the 440,682 candidates sitting for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations, which started on Monday. Although he has failed SPM five times, Chong is determined to pass the national examination to pursue his dreams of getting into sports science. The father of one said even if he fails for the sixth time, he would not give up because his dream would never fade. "Of course there were negative comments from my friends, but I never take them personally. Instead, I take those comments as motivation for me to chase my dream," he said. Chong sat for the Bahasa Malaysia paper at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Ampang on Monday.
> Family turns to bomoh to find missing headmistress
The family of the missing headmistress of SK Tamat Keramat has engaged help from a bomoh after she went missing for 11 days since Oct 23. Her 19-year-old son, Muhd Irfan Ruzilan, said they turned to a bomoh to help find their mother. "It has been tiring...But there is no news or development from the police side," he lamented. According to him, the bomoh claimed that Jasiah was still alive. Muhd Irfan did not share further details. Jashiah was last seen by her neighbours on Oct 23 leaving her house in Taman Seri Seruling on foot, and hitching a ride for a distance of about 10km to an Orang Asli village before heading towards the forest reserve.
