Senior citizen nabbed for raping mentally-impaired woman

A 65-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a mentally-impaired woman at a palm oil estate in Jempol, Negri Sembilan, and making her pregnant. He was a friend of her father and his cruel act was exposed Monday after the woman’s aunt noticed physical changes to her body and took her to a clinic in Ledang, Johor for a check-up. The aunt was shocked when told that her niece was two months’ pregnant, and she quickly lodged a police report. Jempol OCPD Supt Hamzah Alias said the aunt had earlier, on Sept 20, lodged a similar report against the suspect but he was released due to lack of evidence. However, with the confirmed pregnancy and latest police report, police were able to keep the suspect under remand for seven days until Oct 5.
