> Australian dies in crash while on the way to get food for stray cats
An 85-year-old Australian man, described as an avid animal lover, died in a car accident Thursday in Jertih while he was on his way to sell recyclable materials to buy food for stray cats. Reginald Renferd Rennamore was riding a motorcyle with his wife, Dorothy Anna Saunsbury, when he was hit by a Perodua Myvi. The victim died on the spot, while 65-year-old Dorothy sustained serious injuries. The Australian couple have resided in Kampung Air Tawar in Kuala Besut since 2010, and were well-known among the locals for being good samaritans, especially when it comes to caring for stray cats. According to their landlord, Nurzuraida Othman, the couple were regarded as unique as they were willing to collect food waste and other recyclable materials in order to get money to feed the stray animals. According to Nurzuraida, the couple did not have any source of income and were relying solely on Reginald’s pension from his last job as an air force pilot in Australia. Nurzuraida, who visited Dorothy at the Besut Hospital, said she was grieving for the death of her spouse.
