Isnin Mohd Som, 60, from Parit Buntar, Muar, is still an active blood donor. He has donated 105 times since 1972. He was 17 when he first donated blood for a sick relative in hospital. "During that few days in the hospital, I saw many patients suffering from all kinds of sickness. The experience brought me a sense of sympathy and I became determined to continue donating blood," he said. Beginning that year, Isnin has not failed to donate blood at least three times a year. His commitment has also encouraged his 25-year-old son, Mohd Firdaus, to give his blood to charity. "I don't have a lot of money to help but with blood donation, I am happy to be able to help those in need," he said.
