Due to sibling rivalry, a man had behaved irrationally by burning down his parents' house at Kampung Senama in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan. The suspect was reportedly in fits of anger because his parents had visited his sister in Kuala Pilah for Hari Raya. The suspect, 44, is not married and lives with his parents. The mother, 67-year-old Rohani Lanjong, said his son suddenly went berserk and threatened to set the house on fire. "I told him to stay calm and not do something stupid. He went to the house next door, returned with a bottle of fuel and threw it into a room," she recalled the incident. They heard a loud blast before the suspect pulled his parents out of the burning house. The family lost all of their belongings in the house fire. District police chief deputy supt Ibrahim Sharif said the case was being investigated under Section 435 of the Penal Code for causing mischief by fire.
> Primary 6 student tests positive for drugs
A primary six boy was among 250 students who tested positive for methamphetamine in Kelantan. Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said the National Anti-drugs Agency had carried out a random urine test on 5,200 students in the state. He said the relevant authorities are playing close attention in Kelantan as there have been cases of students previously involved in drug abuse who had returned to school to sell the drug. "The Home Ministry will be discussing with the schools to find a solution to prevent former students from entering the school area," he said.
