A businessman from Alor Setar, Kedah, was surprised when an automated teller machine (ATM) suddenly dispensed RM500 cash even before he inserted his debit card into the machine. Wan Mohd Assamudin Ahmad, 50, said he had gone to the Bank Simpanan Nasional ATM at Jalan Tun Razak to withdraw money but couldn't insert his debit card into the machine. After randomly pressing several buttons, the machine ejected a debit card along with RM500 cash. The honest man, however, wanted to pass the money to the bank but was told to keep it until someone claimed the money. He forgot to take the stranger's debit card when he left the ATM on that day and it was gone when he went back to retrieve it. "Until today, no one has come forward to the bank for the money and it has been worrying me," he said. Wan Mohd Assamudin is trying to get in touch with the debit card owner who tried to withdraw money on March 31. He can be reached at 016-4166676.
> Muslims must show marriage cert to use couple seats in Seri Iskandar cinema
Lotus Five Star (LFS) Cinema at Seri Iskandar, Perak, could be the first in the country to require Muslims couples to show proof of marriage to buy tickets for couple seats. Perak Tengah district councillor Khairul Shah Mohamed said the directive not to sell couple-seat tickets to unmarried Muslims couples was already implemented since the cinema started operation last year. "A summons will be issued to the cinema management if unmarried couples are caught occupying couple seats, while the pair who breaks the rule will be sent for counselling," he said. According to Perak Non-Islamic Affairs Committee chairman Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon, the directive issued to LFS by the district council only applied to Muslims.
