Mandatory child car seats not finalised

The Transport Ministry has not made any final decision yet to make it compulsory for child seats to be installed in cars. Road Safety Department director-general Abd Ghafar Yusof said the ministry is taking into consideration the cost involved which could turn to be a burden to some adults. He said a child seat ranges from RM600 to RM1500. Nonetheless, the Road Safety Department is in the midst of raising awareness and was hoping that parents would seriously consider the use of car seats for their children safety.
