>Mak Intan to celebrate Hari Raya with 'children' without Pak Mie
Halijah Idris, fondly called Mak Intan, has been fasting by herself this year without the company of her husband, Muhammad Azmi Ismail, at their animal shelter home in Alor Setar, Kedah. Her husband, known simply as Pak Mie, had ran a shelter for stray cats and dogs with Mak Intan before his demise in March due to stroke. "Luckily I have my 'children' with me to share my longing and loneliness," said Mak Intan referring to her pet animals. The 68-years-old woman currently lives in a cabin near to the animal shelter. She will be spending Hari Raya Aidilfitri at the animal shelter and said she welcomes anyone who is interested to visit her to go there.
